Video: Compo Skate Park Keeps Rolling as Summer Break Ends

After a hard-fought battle to establish the park 14 years ago, Compo Beach Skate Park has turned into a way of life for some.

The Compo Beach Skate Park will be wrapping up its 14th year when October 24 comes around, but until then, inline skaters and skateboarders try to make the most of the dwindling days of summer.

The skate park which costs $8 for resident and $10 for nonresidents, is the biggest supervised outdoor park in the region. On Monday through Friday, the park is open 4:30-7:30 p.m. On weekends, it's open from 12:30-7:30 p.m. After Sept. 6, it will only be open Thursday to Sunday. The $20-$40 beach parking fee is waived if only the park is used.
