VIDEO: Hurricane Sandy Drowns BMW in Westport

As Hurricane Sandy approached land Monday afternoon, a BMW 5-Series became stuck on Harbor Road in the Saugatuck Shores area.

Although it appears as if vehicle could have been driven out of the flood, take a look at where the sea weed lies in this picture. It had drifted several feet past the car and onto the Harbor Road lawns. That was the level of flooding during the first high tide that occurred during Hurricane Sandy. This video was shot about 30 minutes after high tide began to receed.

A Cadillac Escalade pushed through several feet of water while exiting Saugatuck Shores. Many residents returned home Tuesday to make repairs to their homes and property.
