Weak Storm Could Drop A Few Inches of Snow

Westport Weather Whiz Jacob Meisel reports.

We have a weak snow storm that will move close to the area.  We are going to get between 2 to 4 inches of snow, and there is a chance of some rain or sleet mixing in this morning, which would result in lower accumulations.

The models support 2 inches or so and mainly snow, which seems the most logical.  It should end by this evening, but light snow may continue throughout the day.

Here is the Winter Weather Advisory:

The National Weather Service reports low pressure is developing and will track just southeast of Long Island today, then northeast into the Gulf of Maine tonight, which will bring snow mixed with rain along the coast tonight through Tuesday night.

The weather advisory is now in effect until 10 p.m. Snow will continue today, moderately at times, through this afternoon. Total snowfall accumulations of two to seven inches can be expected by the time the snow ends this evening.
Periods of snow, sleet, or freezing rain will decrease visibility and roads will be slick. Use caution while driving.

A winter weather advisory means that periods of snow, sleet or freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibilities and use caution while driving.
