Learn the Powers of Social Networking with Patch in Westport

In this Main Street U session at 7 p.m. tonight in the Westport Library’s McManus Room, Michael Dinan, senior regional editor for Patch.com in Fairfield and Westchester counties, will get you started on choosing which social media outlets you should focus on and what tools are available to help you get the best publicity for your organization.

"This session will be very interactive and it will be something that will interest people who are interested in using social networks for business as well as for personal reasons," said Dinan, a New York City native.

Dinan has a degree in philosophy from the University of Pennsylvania, and studied philosophy at the University of Oxford.

The program is free and open to the public.

In , Wilton, Norwalk and Weston filled the Westport Library McManus Room to experience Westport's first Main Street U. The free, two-hour session taught business owners how to improve their connection to the online community.

Attendees learned about the various tools available to them online, for free, and how to utilize them and Search Engine Optimization (SEO) to streamline and string together their online presence for continuity and a stronger digital existence.
