Westporters G. Kenneth Bernhard, Michael Guthman and Jessica Cohen have reportedly been appointed to the Board of Trustees.
As per a report on WestportNow.com, the three volunteers join the board's 2012-13 slate of officers: Eduardo Andrade, president; Jocelyn Barandiaran, vice president; Julie Belaga, secretary; Gary Goldberg, treasurer; John Hooper, vice president and chair of governance and nominations committee; Russ Barris, vice president and chair of the library’s finance committee; and Marianna McCall, vice president and chair of the development committee.
There are 20 members on the board, half appointed by the Representative Town Meeting and half by the board itself. More information about the role of the board is available on the library’s website. There also is a link to the library’s strategic plan, which guides the library in decision-making and budgeting.
In related news the library recently completed its new which provides an area for hand-on learning as well as various special projects.
