Westporter of the Week

Patch wants to get to know your neighbors and help you do the same with our weekend feature.

Westport Patch has begun a new weekly feature to help you get to know your neighbors and friendly faces around town. This week, meet Lee Papageorge, a downtown business owner who can hook you up when you're hungry.

Name:  Lee Papageorge

Age: I was born in 1951, I'm a 51-er.

Occupation: Owner of Oscar's Deli for the last 37 years.

How long have you been in Westport?

Forty-three years.  I graduated from Roger Ludlow High School in Fairfield in 1969. I worked here when I was 16 years old and bought the place when I was 22.  (The previous owners were Oscar and Sally Siskin)

Where is your favorite place to go in Westport?

Splash.  I like it because of the social aspect and it has a great view.  It's right on the water.

Why Westport?

Well I kind of grew into it because I worked here when I was 16 and then I bought the place.
