Where's Sunny?
Westport Sunrise Rotary and WestportPatch.com are conducting an online "Duck Hunt" supporting the club's Great Duck Race, a charitable all-family event on Saturday, June 12. The race is scheduled from 1 to 4 p.m. on the Saugatuck River behind Parker Harding Plaza.
Sunny, the Rotary Club's pet duck is migrating around Westport until June 12, visiting residents' mailboxes and inviting them to attend the Great Duck Race. If you spot Sunny atop someone's mailbox, snap a photo of her and email it and the address where you found her to liz@patch.com for a chance to win a $50 gift certificate to the Black Duck restaurant in Westport (certificate to be awarded directly following the race; participant must be present to win.) Honor Sunny — and add some derby decor to the day — by wearing a creative hat to the race. Prizes will be awarded for Most Ducky, Most Elegant, and Most Creative.
Proceeds from the sale of race tickets -- $20, including a chance to win a top prize of $5,000 -- go toward local and international charities supported by the Sunrise Rotary. Tickets are available at Christie's, Fairfield County Bank and from all Sunrise Rotary members (look for them around town).
