Storm Update: Snow to Continue Tonight

Forecasters are now predicting accumulations of between 14 and 17 inches.

In a National Weather Service evening update, forecasters have downgraded the expected accumulation, saying snowfall should amount up to 10 inches.

Forecasters say the snow will continue to fall tonight at a rate of one inch per hour and could be heavy at times.

The weather service's winter storm warning remains in effect until 6 a.m. Thursday.

Northeast winds between 20 and 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph will continue to cause blowing and drifting snow, with near-blizzard conditions along with possible power outages. Winds will gradually become northwest after midnight.

The weather service urges drivers to stay off the roads. If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.
