Letter: Financial Leader, Kaner Leads with Accomplishment

I have known Avi Kaner for many years, and I support his election to the Selectman's office with Jim Marpe.
As chairman of the Board of Finance, Avi introduced much needed consensus building among the board members and the Selectman's office. More has been accomplished in the past 2 years under his chairmanship than during the previous 6 years.
Avi is extremely competent in financial matters. He has been able to apply his extensive financial and management experience to the benefit of our town. The town has now started pension and retiree benefit reform, maintaining solid reserves, paying down long term debt, and fully funding our obligations - all with conservative financial discipline ensuring Westport's AAA rating.
Avi Kaner will ensure that our assets, including schools and homes, will be protected for years to come. Please vote for the Marpe/Kaner ticket on November 5th.
