Letter: Jeannie Smith – Education Experience Matters

I support keeping Jeannie Smith as a member of the Westport Board of Education.  I have been a frequent attendant to Board of Education meetings and have witnessed first-hand Jeannie’s tireless commitment to our children, schools and community.  She truly cares about continually advancing education in Westport and wants to hear everyone’s perspective on the issues in order to make the best decisions for our children.

Jeannie has the advantage of understanding how a particular issue will realistically affect the classroom because she was an educator for over ten years.  She has an extensive background in curriculum development, assessments, and standards and provides a truly unique perspective to the Board of Education. 

I strongly believe Jeannie will continue to be an amazing advocate for our children.  She will continue to work on improving our curriculum in a fiscally responsible manner while advancing the Westport 2025 Initiative and achieving our schools’ goals.

Please vote for Jeannie Smith on November 5th - The Educator for the Westport Board of Education.
