Letter: Jeannie Smith is a Leader Committed to our Community

Letter submitted in support of education board candidate.

Editor,

I am an active member of the Westport Young Woman’s League with Board of Education nominee, Jeannie Smith.  Most recently, I served as Jeannie’s co-chair for a Kids Fun Run, as part of our annual Minute Man Race.

Jeannie’s leadership skills shined during the planning process – her creativity, ability to listen, problem solve and effectively collaborate with race partners was extraordinary. Her energy is boundless and her optimistic demeanor makes her an absolute pleasure to work with.

With over 250 participants (ages 6-12) on race day, Jeannie’s experience as an educator proved to be an invaluable asset. She is patient, encouraging and has a true understanding of what children want. All of which resulted in a highly successful race day.

Jeannie Smith is a leader with a team player mentality, and I would like to see her continue to serve on the Westport Board of Education.
