Letter: Keep Jeannie Smith on BOE

With a sophomore at Staples this referral is somewhat self-serving.  I want to see Jeannie Smith elected to continue her role on the Board of Education.  I’ve known Jeannie Smith and her husband Dave for over a year but the cliché, ‘it seems I’ve always known her’ fits like a glove.   Jeannie is big personality in a caring and nurturing kind of way.  Her credentials as an educator make her uniquely qualified as a board member.  

As a mother of four, her commitment to maintaining and enhancing the Westport school system is obvious to all who know her and to the many children related organizations for which she has volunteered her leadership skills over the years.  If you haven’t met her, you should.   She is warm, engaging and quick witted; a leader who is committed to our children and their future.  Republican or Democrat, Jeannie needs to be on your yes list.
