Letter: Marpe/Kaner Are Experienced Team With Proven Track Record

The team of Jim Marpe and Avi Kaner for Westport Selectmen is the right choice for Westport.  Each has an abundance of knowledge and experience with town operations, coupled with decades of business experience.  Their management experience and proven track records in the public and private sectors speak for itself. 

Jim served on the Board of Education for seven years and was Vice Chairman for most of his tenure.  During that time, he developed a deep understanding of town boards and how to effectively solve complex issues.  His years of experience as a Senior Partner at Accenture, where he drove positive results through process improvements while leading both small groups and teams of hundreds, proved invaluable. 

Avi is Chairman of the Board of Finance and has served on the Board for eight years.  Avi has worked diligently to ensure low or no tax increases, while supporting reinvesting in our town’s infrastructure.  Avi’s unique experience in running a supermarket chain in NYC has allowed him to deal with issues such as union negotiations, energy, real estate, budgeting, and strategic planning.

Both men will instill a greater sense of fiscal discipline in order to minimize property taxes while safeguarding Westport’s financial future.  They will strive to make Westport one of the best places to live in America, at a cost Westport taxpayers can afford.

On November 5th, vote for the two most qualified candidates for Westport Selectmen, Jim Marpe and Avi Kaner.
