Letter: Tooker is an Exceptional Candidate for BOF

Jennifer Tooker, who is running for a seat on Westport’s Board of Finance, is an exceptional candidate for public office. The combination of her 20 years of management experience in the financial industry with her service on Westport’s Board of Education makes her uniquely qualified to understand all aspects of the Town’s budget and to balance the interests of its various stakeholders.  

Without question, Jen has the right financial skills and she knows the issues. But she brings much more to the table. She takes public service very seriously and has given a great deal of thought to its purpose. Her respect for every member of the public she meets always shines through: no question is unnecessary, and no viewpoint is unworthy of a hearing. Jen is open and authentic; her interest in people when she talks with them is real. Her energy and enthusiasm are boundless, her commitment is genuine, and she is focused on spending as much time and effort as possible on making Westport the very best town it can be for all of its residents.  

I know no one better to act as an advocate for the Westport community. Jen will be an exemplary team player, a strong voice for her constituents, a contributor of thoughtful ideas and solutions, and a credit to the people she represents. It is my very great pleasure to endorse her candidacy for the Board of Finance.
