BRIDGEPORT – This holiday season, families are in for a bigger than usual Christmas treat. Bridgeport’s beautiful downtown Bijou Theatre and Stamford-based The New Paradigm Theatre Company are partnering to create a new holiday tradition to be presented on The Bijou’s stage on December 1 and 2. “Bringing Broadway to Bridgeport” is a family-friendly variety holiday show with performers, singers, and musicians from The New Paradigm Theatre Company. The MC for the event is television star Scott Bryce.
Adding to the glamour and fun of “Bringing Broadway to Bridgeport” will be a personal appearance by Emily Audibert, the current Miss Connecticut. Another highlight of the show is sure to be the appearance of the Bridgeport Boy’s Choir which is comprised of 21 members who attend schools in the Greater Bridgeport area. They are in their 28th season. The choir has proven to be a valuable way to help boys develop musical talent, promote good discipline habits and generate self-esteem. They will be featured in the show with the Broadway performers from The New Paradigm Theatre in some familiar holiday tunes, as well as in a Santa Claus skit that some of the boys will help to write. Since The Bijou Theatre and New Paradigm Theatre believe in not just performing but also in a “mentoring outreach” to the community, the Broadway pros will spend time guiding some of the choir members weeks before the show in writing, theatre and vocal work in preparation for the show.

There will be two performances on Saturday December 1 beginning at 3 PM and 8 PM, and on Sunday December 2 beginning at 2 PM and 7 PM. Ticket prices are $20 for theatre seating, $25 for cabaret seating.
Perks are available for those who purchase their tickets prior to November 16. Perks include a VIP pass to the by-invitation-only dress rehearsal, a talkback after the show with the stars, and dinner with the stars. Group ticket sales for senior centers and homes (10 or more) will receive the above, as well as a visit in December by Kristin Huffman (Artistic Director of The New Paradigm Theatre Company) with a young crew of carolers. For school group ticket sales of 10 or more people, in addition to the above, Kristin Huffman will come to your school to give a master class on auditioning for Broadway. Businesses that have groups of 10 or more will also enjoy the above perks plus a “Caroling Day” at your office led by Kristin Huffman and some young stars. All early buyers (before November 16th) will be entered into a raffle for a walk-on role in the show.
