The Teen Awareness Group (TAG) of Staples High School will sponsor a presentation by Jordan Burnham on Thursday, October 18th 2012 in the Bedford Middle School auditorium beginning at 7:00PM. The presentation is offered to the Westport community in light of October being recognized as National Depression Awareness Month
Jordan’s presentation focuses on his personal battle with depression throughout high school. His story has been captured in an Emmy nominated ESPN “E:60” documentary available on YouTube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pAE12hdQ9ok
In bringing Jordan to Westport, TAG hopes to draw attention to the many stressors and warning signs involved in identifying depression in teenagers. Jordan will offer his personal experiences while highlighting the successful strategies he has used both for himself, and to assist others in dealing with this disease.
