Directors David Roth and Kerry Long are directing the musical which revolves around a visit to Sweet Apple, Ohio by a famous singer named Conrad Birdie.  Jack Seigenthaller,  a student from Weston in the show says “I play Conrad Birdie, a character much like Elvis at the height of popularity, who has just been drafted into the Army. Conrad’s goodbye to his country, conceived by his manager, Albert Peterson, is to bestow “One Last Kiss” onto a random fan in this small Ohio town: Sweet Apple.”

Staples graduate Michelle Pauker who plays Kim MacAffe adds that “The cool thing about this show is that it's written to entertain audience members of all ages. The music and dancing is tons of fun, and the characters are hilarious.”

Kaitlin Brozek  of Weston, who plays Ursula Merkle is very enthusiastic about the musical.  “Bye Bye Birdie is one of the most fun Broadway shows I know, and the best part is how enjoyable it is for all ages! With fun dancers and many scenes including crowds of teenage girls screaming and swooning over the very charming Conrad Birdie, the show is sure to bring smiles to the audience’s faces. Personally, my favorite part of the show is the number “Honestly Sincere”, because it incorporates all of the show’s best features in one number: mini dance combinations, the craziness of the teen girls, and Conrad Birdie’s irresistible musical talent.

Alexandra Rappaport who also graduated from Staples this year agrees with Kaitlin and Michelle.  “The audience is going to love how much fun this show is. There is exciting dancing and hilarious comedy, and the music is upbeat with colorful costumes and set pieces. There's never a dull moment!”

Don Rickenbeck is the musical director and conductor of “Bye Bye Birdie” and Andrea Metchick returns as choreographer.   Peter Barbieri has designed sets and is the technical director with Devae Seltzer.

Marhorie Watt and Priscilla Stampa have designed costumes for all of the Sweet Apple residents and visitors.
