Westport Historical Society Presents A Gem of a Craft Show

Get a jump on your holiday shopping the weekend of Nov. 16-17 when the
Westport Historical Society hosts a craft show with handmade objects such as
jewelry, ceramics, paper art, tide clocks and clothing. The show is open from
10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 16, and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday,
Nov. 17. Admission is free.



Among the vendors are several  Westport
residents, including inventor and clock designer Alan Winick, whose tide clocks
show tide movements against whimsical seaside settings in which the tide
appears to rise and fall in synch with the local cycle.



Westporter Amy Schneider creates one-of-a-kind jewelry and pottery for
local craft shows, designs pieces for private commissions and repairs broken
jewelry. She has participated in the Westport Historical Society Craft Show
since its inception.

Stefania Urist, a fine art sculptor from Westport who graduated from the Rhode
Island School of Design, crafts pieces using a variety of glass techniques,
such as flame working, glass blowing and kiln forming.



Other vendors are Abbey Road Design by Leslie Rottner (fine
art photography and mixed media art), Cider Mill Designs by Kim Charles
(container gardens and terrariums), Creativimpulse by Jennifer Harkey (recycled
glass), Linda Dohanos (images that explore the workings of the mind), Komfort
Zone (natural soaps), Lu Oliveira (jewelry in a variety of media and cultural
styles),

Also, Ami Nyitray (wearable pieces created from natural objects and found
created objects that tell stories), Riverstone Jewelry (pieces made with
amulets, talismans and rare beads), The Gifted Potter, and Elegant Italian
Accessories by Linda Di Meglio.



All crafts are moderately priced. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the
Westport Historical Society.
