Family Y to Unveil Construction Plans for New Y Facility

The Westport Weston Family Y will hold a special meeting on Monday, March 19 at 7:30 pm in the Great Hall at Christ & Holy Trinity Church to share the latest details about the first phase of construction for our new Y facility at Mahackeno Outdoor Center. The meeting is open to the public.

In mid-February, the Family Y announced that our new Y facility will be built in stages, keeping pace with fundraising for the facility and ensuring the financial sustainability of the Family Y as a community center focused on developing youth, promoting healthy living for all and fostering a sense of social responsibility.

Provided that we secure a significant portion of the remaining funds needed by mid-May, construction at our Mahackeno campus is scheduled to begin in October, starting with a 54,000 sq. ft. main building that will include a lap pool and family/teaching pool; 5,900 sq. ft. Wellness Center; multi-purpose Gymnasium; three fitness studios; Child Watch/Kids’ Gym area; five locker rooms; and other amenities of a modern, family-oriented YMCA facility.
