'Out of War' Veterans Day Program

(WAC) presents "Out of War," a Veteran's Day program, 12:30-1:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 11, in the center's gallery. The presentation is open to the public. The suggested donation is $10.

This Veteran’s Day program will highlight local writers and poets who write about war—either on the front line or on the home front.

WAC received a number of memoirs from its Fall 2010 writing contest that address the theme of war, including work by Anne Holmes, Sumner Jules Glimcher, Alan Swerdlowe, Priscilla Whitley, and Teresa Yokoi. Other well-known and acclaimed war writings, including those of Tracy Sugarman, whose art work appears in the "Memory" exhibit, will be interwoven into a 45-minute performance scored with musical interludes, read by Ina Chadwick, Donagh J. Gleason, and Chilton Ryan.
