Penguin Plunge Takes to the Icy Waters

As long as it's cold outside, you may as well be Freezin' for a Reason. Don't miss the opportunity to run, jump, or dive into the chilly waters as part of the state-wide Penguin Plunge. The fundraiser benefits Special Olympics Connecticut. Last Year, thousands of "penguins" took the plunge along Connecticut's shores.

Westport's plunge will take place at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, March 6, at Compo Beach, 170 Riverside Avenue, Westport. Registration will be held prior to the plunge from 12:30 to 2:15.

Penguin participants solicit donations from family, friends and local businesses in order to take the plunge. Incentive prizes for money raised and individual and group awards are given in a number of different categories.
