Rotary Hosts Former State Rep Luscombe

Former State Representative Jo Fuchs Luscombe will speak on growing up in Latin America and her experiences as a young oil company wife, in the then kingdom of Libya, at the next Westport Sunrise Rotary's breakfast meeting. The group will meet at 7:30 a.m. Friday, March 12, at Bobby Q's Restaurant, located at 42 Main Street in Westport.

The club will also cite Benjamin Shack-Sackler, a sophomore at Greens Farms Academy, as their Social Entrepreneur of the Month.  Mr. Shack-Sackler is being recognized for raising $30,000 for a school in Mali.

Jo Fuchs Luscombe, born in Dallas, Texas, spent much of her youth in Latin America. From 1960 to 1965, she resided in Libya, just prior to the overthrow of its king, Idris I.  "There, I made many lasting friendships, which contributed to my colorful experiences," said Ms. Fuchs.

Westport Sunrise Rotary regularly honors high school students at Staples and Greens Farms Academy who embody Rotary's motto of "Service Above Self," and who have made extraordinary contributions to the community beyond the classroom.

Westport Sunrise Rotary meets every Friday at 7:30 a.m. at Bobby Q's. For more information, visit  www.westportsunriserotary.com, or attend a meeting.
