                                 Benefiting the Big Cats Initiative

While it seems hard to believe that such an iconic species as the African Lion faces extinction within the next decade, the facts don’t lie.  In the last 50 years the Lions’ numbers have dropped from 450,000 to only about 20,000, in large part due to human lion conflict resulting from a burgeoning African population. In addition, 600 lions a year are killed by trophy hunters, the majority at the hands of Americans. A similar situation faces the Leopards and Cheetahs making it imperative that we act now.

The Big Cats Initiative is a comprehensive program that supports on-the-ground conservation projects, education, and economic incentive efforts and a global public-awareness campaign. Their work needs our support and we don’t have much time.  National Geographic's Big Cats Initiative is a 501(c3) organization.

Please help us reach our goal of raising $50,000 for the Big Cats Initiative.  Tickets start at $250 per person.  Please contact Lisa Holzwarth and Evan Schiller at 203-260-1729 or email: savebigcats@bigcatshots.com.
