Westport FD Hosts Annual Donate Life Month Kickoff

On April 4th at 9:30am the Westport Fire Department will be hosting its second annual Donate Life Month Kickoff at .

The event is a reflection of the ongoing commitment that the Westport Fire Department has to support organ and tissue donation and the partnership between Donate Life Connecticut and the Westport Fire Department. There are currently over 113,000 Americans on the waiting list for a lifesaving organ transplant.

Unfortunately, about 18 people die every day simply because an organ was not available in time. The event will include short speeches from organ transplant recipients and family members of deceased organ donors. We will also fly the Donate Life flag along with 64 other communities across the state. We invite the general public to attend and learn about the need and how they can help.
