Emergency Animal Rescue Group Earns $100 More Toward Goal

EARS is a Westport-based organization that seeks to help animals during natural disasters and other events when emergency personnel are focused mainly on people.

Since last we checked in on the GoFundMe fundraising campaign of Emergency Animal Rescue Service, the Westport-based organization has raised an additional $100 for a reduced-cost vehicle to help with its work.

‘EARS,' as it's known, focuses on animals in need during emergencies when many public and volunteer responders are focused on people.

In a little over five months, 19 people now have contributed a total of $643 toward EARS’ $3,000 goal.

Here's part of the organization's note to donors and prospective donors on GoFundMe: "Thank you everyone for your support of our efforts. We are confident that we can reach our goal and we can make this happen! Also I want to send a very special thanks to those who have contributed, but commented or emailed that you wish you could give more. First and foremost, whether you contributed $5 or $500 we appreciate every bit, but most importantly it truly makes us smile to see that even if things are tight, you are still willing to help however you can. Whether you can donate, volunteer, or simply share, we are thankful to everyone!"
