Is West Hartford resident Alex Phibbs cute or what?

He hopes people think so and will cast their votes for him in the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals' ninth annual Cutest Vegan Alive contest.

Click here to see all the female and male finalists and vote for your favorite.

Phibbs has beaten out dozens of entrants from across the country to be named one of 10 male finalists vying for the title of 2014 PETA's youth division.

The final pool consists of 20 finalists—the 10 finalists (five male and five female) who received the highest number of votes, plus 10 finalists (five male and five female) who were selected by peta2. The two winners—one male and one female—will win a professional photo shoot and a chance to star in their own peta2 ad.

"Alex is determined to make the world a kinder place," says peta2 Director Marta Holmberg. "People who go vegan show respect for animals, the planet, and their own bodies, and that makes all of them cute in our book."

In his profile, Phibbs says, "I'm a full time student, golfer, bodybuilder, and most importantly Vegan! I went Vegan when I came to the conclusion that humans do not need animal products to survive, and that if I could do anything to combat the atrocities that are being committed against these helpless beings, I would."

Phibbs, who built up all his mass after going vegan, plans to play golf professionally after graduating from Campbell University's PGA Golf Management Program. He credits all the fruits and vegetables he eats with giving him his abundant energy. Phibbs is always sending his friends interesting facts, video links, and other information on the benefits of going vegan and has helped several of his friends make the transition to a healthy plant-based diet.

peta2 will select the two winners based on several factors, including vote count. See the full contest details here. To view photos of and read more about the finalists, you can click here. For more information, please visit peta2.com.

Peta2, an animal rights group, uses its "cutest" campaigns to draw attention to the not so cute industry of animal abuse. The average vegan was once a meat eater who made a conscious decision to stop eating all meat products after being educated about the horrific cruelty most animals endure so that we can enjoy that special sauce which is slathered on a piece of dead flesh. A hamburger that weighs about 1/3 lb. needs 635 gallons of water to be produced, the relationship between the consumption of animal products and chronic illness has been fully documented and published, the oceans have been depleted of fish and yet the average person believes that they have to consume flesh food at every meal. I urge everyone to visit Dr. Joel Fuhrman's website and educate themselves on how to maintain and/or regain health through a vegan diet-the life you save may be your own! In the meantime, thank you peta2 for promoting how cute a vegan can be.

I also urge all people to go to the dentist and have their canine teeth pulled since apparently Henrietta feels there reason to have them. If you are into this good for you, but please I wish people in their own self interest groups would just do their thing and stop preaching their lifestyle to everyone. Everyone knows what a fine upstanding group Peta is. We've seen the stunts they've pulled.

PETA is the opposite of a cute organizations. Sorry our young have been manipulated and brainwashed to this extent.
