Marpe Extends Holiday Wishes for Westport

The following letter was released by Westport First Selectman Jim Marpe:

The holiday season is upon us and I want to extend my best wishes for peace and prosperity, not just for Westport, but for the world.

We are truly blessed to live in a wonderful town where people are passionate about the community. We may experience the challenge of living with differences and difficulties but, I believe that the Christmas season, however you choose to celebrate or worship, provides us all with the calm and peace that is at the heart of good will and generous spirits.

In the coming weeks, I hope you will have the chance to slow down and experience the true meaning of celebration and rest. When all is said and done, family, friends and neighbors are what bring real meaning to our daily lives.

I look forward to the New Year with a strong sense of optimism and hope. I am thankful for all the ways our citizens and dedicated employees work together to create a bright future.
