Obituary: Gordon Swisha, 45, Beloved Husband

Calling hours will be held from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 14 at Lesko & Polke Funeral Home.

Swisha - Gordon L. Swisha, age 45, beloved husband of Meredith Sachs Swisha, of Fairfield, passed away on October 8, 2012.  

In addition to Meredith, his devoted wife, Gordon's memory will be embraced by his cherished son, Luke; his parents, Haim and Birthe Leth Shwisha, of Westport; his parents-in-law, Robert Sachs, and wife, Christine, of Rye, NY, and Jane Sachs, of Great Neck, NY; his brothers-in-law, Jonathan Sachs, and wife, Kelly and Christopher Sachs, of Hawthorne, NJ; several nieces and nephews; numerous dear friends; and his dedicated staff at Electrix, Inc.  

Born in New York City, Gordon was raised in Westport, graduating from Staples High School in 1985. He spent several years in California, receiving his degree from UCLA. He returned East to New Haven before making Fairfield his home 4 years ago.  

The owner of Electrix, Inc., of New Haven, Gordon was a talented architectural lighting designer, with various patents to his credit. Intricately involved in the custom lighting of numerous landmark buildings throughout the world, he was proud of his company's accomplishments.  

Gordon possessed a real passion for life. A warm engaging individual, he truly cared to meet and understand people. He was a skilled boats man, who knew Long Island Sound, and an amazing golfer. He enjoyed spending time outdoors with those he loved, and was a fantastic husband and father. Gordon will be dearly missed by his family and friends.  

Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 1-3 PM in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, in Fairfield Center. A service to celebrate Gordon's life will immediately follow at 3 PM, with the Reverend Frank Hall officiating. His interment will be private.

Why is it the panel for this event does not include a single advocate for gun-owners' rights? WithRead More all due respect to Chief McNamara, why does the panel no include a person who can speak to gun safety from a gun-owning civilian's perspective? ML, you claim that the assembled folks "do not offer judgements about gun ownership" but they are not including a single voice that can offer perspective on gun ownership. I have been to "education" sessions sponsored by Meg's March for Change and they are one-sided indoctrinations into gun control advocacy. >>>> I was in Hartford for the public hearings in January when both Meg and March co-founder Nancy gave their personal testimonies and they all but threatened the legislators on the panel with election day retribution for all those who did not tow the gun-control line of thinking (i.e. March and CAGV). To suggest that Meg "does not offer judgements" is fallacious and disingenuous.
