Campers enjoy hands-on activities, group games, field trips, hikes and crafts at Earthplace’s 62-acre wildlife sanctuary. Field trips are also planned for the older grades. Each weekly session is themed, and campers can register for whatever combination of weeks suits their summer plans. Sessions begin the week of June 20 for 3s, 4s, and Kindergartners and June 27 for older grades and run through the week of August 8th.
Earthplace’s camp programs accommodate children from preschool through 7th grade. Camp hours are 9:30am-2:00pm. They also offer before (8:30-9:30am) and after (2:00-4:00pm) care.

Westport Parks and Recreation
Camp Compo offers seven one-week camp sessions at Compo Beach for children entering Kindergarten through 4th grade. Activities include arts and crafts, sports, games, yoga, and time in the water and on the playground. Sessions run from the week of June 27 through the week of Aug. 8. Camp hours are 9:00am-3:00pm. The camp closes for inclement weather.
Parks and Recreation also offers a Tot ‘n Play Day Camp for 3s and 4s the weeks of June 13 through July 25 between 9:00am and 12:00pm. Kindergartners may register for the first two weeks.
Children in grades 5-8 can register for RECing Crew camp for the weeks of June 27 through Aug. 8. Camp hours are 8:45am-3:15pm.
A number of sports camps are also offered for tennis, soccer, basketball, baseball, or softball enthusiasts from Kindergarten through 12th grade, and Kempo Academy of Martial Arts offers weekly camp programs for children in grades 1-5. Kempo Academy’s camp hours are 9:00am-1:00pm, and they meet the weeks of July 11 through Aug. 8.

Mahackeno has been operating for 71 years and provides a traditional camp experience of swimming, canoeing, arts and crafts, sing a-longs, archery, and other sport activities. This summer also features a Rock Wall and two ‘Special Events’ weeks from June 20-24 and Aug. 22-26. Eight weekly sessions are also available beginning the week of June 27 through the week of Aug. 15.
Mahackeno accommodates campers from first through seventh grades. Camp hours are 9 a.m.-4 p.m. ‘Sunrise’ drop-off at 8:00am and ‘Sunset’ pick-up at 6:00pm accommodates working parents.

Jacqueline’s Art Camp
Jacqueline Frusciante offers painting camp for young artists. Students select a painting to recreate, and Frusciante guides them step-by-step from sketching the image on the canvas to mixing the acrylic paints to creating the visual effects. Sessions run for eight weeks beginning June 21st. Morning (9:00am-12pm) or afternoon (1:00-4:00pm) sessions are available, and they break for lunch or a snack.
Frusciante accepts children ages 5-15. Classes max out at six artists, so space is limited. The fee includes all materials.

Also for young art lovers, the Westport Arts Center is offering 10 weeks of camp programs. Students can register for any combination of weeks. Each week revolves around a theme, including Lego; Art from Around the World: Asia; Architecture, Sculpture, and 3D; Photography; Art Lab; and All Things Paper, among others.
Programs are available for children ages 5-10 and are limited to 10 students per session. Morning sessions meet from 9:30am-12:30pm, and a shorter afternoon session meets from 2:00-4:00pm.

New addition to the list: The Music Theater of Connecticut (MTC)
MTC offers three summer sessions in which campers participate in musical productions. Each session runs for three weeks and concludes with students participating in two public performances of each musical. This summer features Disney’s Aladdin, Junior Edition (June 27-Aug. 6), Disney’s Camp Rock: The Musical (July 18-Aug. 1), and an updated version of Sleeping Beauty (Aug. 1-20). Campers can participate in sessions one and two or one and three.
MTC accepts students ages 7 and up. Camp hours are 9:30am-3:00pm Monday-Friday.
