Westport Resident Supports Steinberg for State Rep.

A letter to the editor from Westport resident Bob Galan.

Two years ago, I campaigned for Jonathan Steinberg as an unaffiliated voter.  My thoughts at the time were that Jonathan had the ability to work with people, bring to consensus groups with varied positions on issues and that he had the organizational skills, knowledge of the facts, talent and dedication to effectively serve Westport’s needs in Hartford.

I believe that the last two years give testimony to the fact that Jonathan was, and is, the candidate to serve all Westporters in Hartford.

In his first term, he was instrumental in getting $500,000 in state funding for the Levitt Pavilion renovation and $300,000 for the repair of the roof of the Saugatuck Apartments, an affordable senior housing complex on Bridge St.

He has worked with colleagues from both sides of the aisle to come up with solutions to issues such as storm response, education and budget reform and has been a leader in the energy and technology area, senior issues and environmental issues.

Jonathan has served us well and deserves another term to continue his good work in Hartford.  Please join me in casting your vote for him on November 6.
