The Westport Fire Department responded to a single vehicle accident on the Merritt Parkway today around 10:45 a.m.
The accident occurred between exits 42 and 44 in the northbound lane and took about 40 minutes to clear. The right lane was closed while firefighters cleared the scene.
The Fire Department reports that the driver was taken to Norwalk Hospital with injuries. The driver's condition was unknown as of noon Thursday.
