Blotter: Man Arrested for Pill Possession

Arrests from April 18-19.

The following arrest information was provided by the Westport Police Department. It does not indicate convictions.

Mark Garrett, 46, of Stamford, was arrested on April 19 at 10 p.m. on a charge of possession of narcotics. According to the police, it was reported that Garrett was acting strangely in the parking lot on 1070 Post Road E. When he was questioned by police, Garrett reportedly kept trying to place his hand in his right front packet. Officers searched Garrett and found 8 oxycodone pills, 4 temazepam pills and two seroquel pills. Garrett’s bail was set at $2,000 and he is scheduled to appear in state Superior Court in Norwalk on April 29.

Latoya Stewart, 23, of Ansonia, was arrested on April 18 at 2 p.m. on two counts of second-degree failure to appear. According to the report, Stewart was picked up at Bridgeport Adult Probation by Westport police for failing to appear in court on unspecified charges. Stewart’s bail was set at $10,000 and she is scheduled to appear in state Superior Court in Norwalk on April 28.

A town man was arrested on April 19 at 10:55 p.m. on a charge of disorderly conduct. According to the police, the man was involved in a domestic dispute. He was released on a promise to appear in state Superior Court on April 20.
