stopped a car Tuesday afternoon because its license plate did not match the vehicle, police said.
A search of the vehicle turned up a pair of black metal knuckles that was concealed under various paperwork and other items in the car’s glove compartment, police said.
Westport police charged 27-year-old Domingo Acosta, of 239 Harral Avenue, Bridgeport, with possession of a weapon in a vehicle, failure to keep plates readable, misuse of plates, operating an unregistered vehicle, insurance coverage fails minimum requirements and illegal operation of a motor vehicle under suspension, according to police.
Acosta was released after posting a $500 surety bond. He is due in Norwalk Superior Court September 14.
