Second Suspect Charged With 20 Counts of Burglary, Larceny in Westport

The two suspects were part of a crew that is suspected of committing burglaries in Darien, Trumbull and Westport, police said.

A second suspect was charged in connection with the several car burglaries that occurred in Westport between June 5 and 7.

Westport police charged Nelson Rivera, 24, of Bridgeport, with ten counts of third-degree burglary from a motor vehicle and both felony and misdemeanor larceny charges. He was arrested at Norwalk Superior Court on September 7, according to Westport Police Captain Sam Arciola.

Westport police served two arrest warrants at Norwalk Superior Court Friday, charging a man with 10 counts of burglary for allegedly stealing items from cars in Westport.

The arrest warrants stem from car break-ins that occurred between June 5 and June 11 on Gault Avenue, Sherwood Drive, Pumpkin Hill Road and Westfair Drive in Westport, police said. 

The other members of the crew --  in Darien, police said. Nelson and Joshua Rivera, who are brothers, have also been charged with burglarizing a home in Trumbull, according to police.

Westport police charged 21-year-old Livelle Sampson, of Bridgeport, with ten counts of third-degree burglary from a motor vehicle, third-degree larceny, two counts of fourth-degree larceny, and seven counts of sixth-degree larceny.

He was held on $150,000 bond.
