Westport police charged 29-year-old Blanca Chivarria with driving under the influence of alchol and operating a motor vehicle under suspension, among other charges, after she was incolved in a car accident, according to a police report.
The alleged accident occurred at the intersection of Wilton Road and Newtown Turnpike. Chivarria reportedly hit the rear end of another vehicle while approaching a red light.
Chivarria stopped, but then got back in her vehicle, which had sustained heavy front-end damage, and continued northbound on Wilton Road, police said.
