Camaro Crashes Into Upholstery Store

No injuries were reported aside from the building itself.

A Camaro Z28 crashed into Custom Upholstery on 22 Riverside Ave. on Friday morning.

According to the Westport Fire Department, the accident occurred before 7 a.m. and the driver stated that the gas pedal got stuck. The building sustained structural damage and the muscle car was smashed. Firefighters blocked the front of the building as a safety precaution. Steve Smith, Westport’s building official, came to evaluate the damage and the last firefighter left the scene at 8:10 a.m.
