Smooth Criminal: Car Thief Possessing PCP Arrested

Two hours after allegedly stealing a car, the suspect came to Westport to make some demands.

Discretion was not a suspected car thief's strong point.

According to Westport Police, Wilfredo Nieves, 31, of Bridgeport, went to Volvo of Westport at 556 Post Road East on Monday afternoon to demand license plates for a 2012 Ford Focus. The car had markings identifying it was being from Park City Ford in Bridgeport. Police were notified about Nieves' suspicious demands by Volvo of Westport. The department found out that the vehicle had been stolen just two hours prior.

Nieves was pulled over on West Parish Road and police found 1.7 grams of PCP on him. The plates that were on the car had reportedly been stolen from a rental car company.
