Convicted Westport Robber, Burglar Arrested, Again

After serving several years in jail for a Westport robbery and a Stamford burglary, the Westport man continues to fight the law.

Russell J. Reed, 21, of 1655 Post Road East, Westport, was charged with second-degree failure to appear after a officer, who was aware Reed had a warrant, saw him driving on the Post Road Monday morning.

Reed was initially supposed to appear in Norwalk Superior Court for a breach of peach charge that occurred in Westport in October, according to the State of Connecticut Judicial Branch website.

Reed was taken into custody and later released after posting $2,500 bond. He is due in court May 3.

In 2007 Reed was convicted of second-degree burglary for an incident in Stamford and first-degree robbery – firearm threat – for an incident in Westport, according to Connecticut’s Judicial Branch website. He was sentenced to four and a half years in prison followed by five years probation.  was convited of the violation, which led to a probation continuation.
