Cops: Man Robbed at Knifepoint in Westport

Police seek information about the suspects.

A male was reportedly robbed at knifepoint in Westport Wednesday. Police are trying to identify the suspects involved in the robbery.

The victim got off a train at the East Norwalk train station around 1:15 p.m. and walked to the Mobil Station on Winfield Street to find a ride. He spoke with two males, who agreed to give him a ride for $10, according to Westport police.

The man got into the vehicle with the two males and two females. After driving around streets he was unfamiliar with, the car pulled onto the side of the roadway and the victim was forced out of the vehicle by the driver and the other male occupant.

The driver demanded -- at knifepoint -- more money from the complainant and took his wallet. The male suspects prevented the victim from fleeing and was forced to reenter the vehicle, where the suspects repeatedly asked the man for his PIN number.

When the complainant didn't provide his pin number, someone in the backseat reportedly struck him in the face, police said.

The victim was left alone with the driver, who was still holding a knife, at some point after the other occupants left the vehicle. According to the report, the driver told the man he would kill him if the victim provided the wrong PIN for the debit card in his wallet.

The victim was let out of the car in the area of Wright Street and King's Highway North. He described the suspects' vehicle as a dark-colored sedan with cloth interior.

Police are attempting to identify the following suspects (pictured in the attached gas station surveillance footage):

  • First suspect, the driver: The victim described the driver as a white male in his mid 20’s with a thin build and approximately 5’10” tall with a long face with a short, trimmed beard and mustache. He was wearing round metal-framed prescription glasses and his hair was short and light in color with longer bangs styled upward. The driver was wearing a white T-shirt with blue jeans.
  • Second suspect: Described as a white male in his mid 20’s with a thin build, approximately 5’7” tall. He was clean-shaven and wearing a white T-shirt. He is seen on gas station surveillance (attached) wearing red gym shorts with a striped running down the outside of the leg and black sneakers.
  • Third suspect: Described as a white female, mid 20’s, with dark blonde hair in a ponytail.
  • Fourth suspect: Described as a white female thin build, mid 20’s, with flat straight, dark blonde hair.
