A North Carolina man was taken into custody earlier this month by Connecticut State Police after an officer learned he had a warrant for his arrest for a car accident that occurred in Westport, according to an arrest report.
In July, 2011 Daniel Stefkovich allegedly struck and damaged the wooden bridge on Harbor Road and failed to report the damage, police said.
Stefkovich, 24, of Cary, North Carolina, was charged with evading responsibility, failure to drive right at a slow speed and driving with an out-of-state license for more than 30 days.
Stefkovich was released after posting a $1,000 cash bond. He was scheduled to appear in Norwalk Superior Court the day he was arrested, January 18.
