Drop Top Porsche Crashes into Westport Condos

Westport Firefighters responded to an automatic alarm caused by the late model Porsche that had been accidently driven into the front entrance of the building Friday afternoon.

 

A male driver crashed into the entrance of the condo complex at 130 Post Road West at about 2:23 p.m., and while the buildings’ elevator remains out of commission, the driver only suffered minor injuries.

Westport Firefighters and EMS evaluated the driver who lost conrtol of the Porsche 911 Cabrio, which had to be towed from the scene. He suffered minor lacerations to his hand, but refused transport to the hospital after being checked out, according to Assistant Chief Robert Kepchar.

A building official was called to the scene to structurally evaluate the building, Kepchar said. Residents were allowed back into the building, but the damaged elevator remains out of service.

is investigating the accident. The building was turned over to the property manager at about 3:30 p.m. and repairs will begin shortly, Kepchar said.
