Drunk Woman Smashes Westport Mailboxes With Two-Year-Old in Car

The woman had her two-year-old daughter in the car when she allegedly crashed into two mailboxes while under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

 

The woman was driving drunk in July with her two year-old daughter in the back seat when she struck two mailboxes and caused significant damage to her vehicle, police said. 

Police located the woman on Post Road West with both front and rear passenger-side tires torn from their wheels, according to the police report. She appeared to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs, police said.

charged Maritza Delvalle, 32, of Norwalk, with risk of injury to a child, operating under the influence of drugs or alcohol, evading responsibility – property damage and failure to drive right. She turned herself into Westport Police Headquarters Saturday on a warrant.

Delvalle was released on $10,000 bond. She is due in Norwalk Superior Court August 29.
