Former Westport Bertucci's Employee Accused of Increasing Tips, Pocketing Cash

Westport police reports: March 15-19.

Mary Miller, 24, of Fairfield, was charged March 15 with third-degree forgery, illegal use of a credit card and sixth-degree larceny. Westport police officers responded to Waterbury Police Department where they were holding Miller, who had an active warrant for her arrest.  The warrant stems back to December 2011 when Miller, who had been employed at , was allegedly altering credit card receipts from patrons, increasing the tip amount and pocketing the cash, police said. 

She posted $5,000 bond and was released for court March. 26.

Stephanie Bernier, 21, of Stratford and Daniel Scott, 29, of Stratford, were charged Monday after officers responded to Stratford Police Department where they were holding Bernier and Scott who both had active warrants against them. The warrants stem from a complaint filed by Bernier’s father who alleges that Bernier and Scott had stolen several pieces from his sports memorabilia collection and several pieces of jewelry, police said. Both parties were unable to post bond and were brought to Norwalk Superior Court this morning for arraignment.

Scott was charged with conspiracy to commit first-degree larceny and Bernier was charged with first-degree larceny and commit first-degree larceny. Bernier was held on $20,000 bond and Scott was held on $15,000 bond.
