I-95 Car Crash Sends Two to Norwalk Hospital

All were treated for minor injuries.

The Westport Fire Department responded this afternoon to a motor vehicle accident with injuries on Interstate 95 southbound between the Saugatuck River Bridge and the exit 17 off-ramp.

The driver of a late model Toyota Scion sedan lost control of the vehicle, hitting the median divider jersey barrier and causing significant damage to the barrier and minor damage to a small truck traveling in an adjacent lane, according to a news release.

Two of the four occupants of the Scion sustained minor injuries.  Fire crews assisted Westport EMS in assessing and treating patients. The Westport EMS transported two of the four vehicle occupants to Norwalk hospital with minor injuries.  Westport fire personnel remained on scene to contain fluid spills from the damaged vehicle and to help remove the vehicle removal from the highway. Connecticut State Police Troop G is investigating the accident.
