Man Arrested at Westport Town Hall Following Disturbance, Intrusion

The Wilton resident was previously banned from Westport Town Hall by the Westport Police Department, according to an arrest report.

 

A Wilton man who had previously been banned from Westport Town Hall was arrested Friday after he created a disturbance in a Town Hall office, police said.

“He had been previously warned by this department neither to have further contact with anyone at Town Hall nor to enter the premise,” the arrest synopsis stated.

Westport police charged 55-year-old Dale Betts, of 8 Tall Tree Lane, Wilton, with second-degree criminal trespassing and creating a public disturbance, police said.

He was later released on a promise to appear in Norwalk Superior court on Jan. 14.
