Man With Knife Robs Citibank Branch

Fled on foot, with evidence from the robbery found at Sylvan Rd. North and Marion Rd.

The Citibank branch at 399 Post Rd. West was robbed by a knife-wielding man at around 1 p.m. Friday.

In a news release, Westport Police Capt. Sam Arciola said the suspect brandished a knife with a black handle and passed a note to a teller demanding money.

After being handed cash, the man fled the bank on foot west toward Norwalk.

The bandit was described as a black male approximately 6 feet tall, wearing a long black trench-style coat, blue hat with orange writing, clean shaven, in his late 30’s to early 40’s, with a muscular upper-body build.

Arciola said the man’s coat and other evidence were located about a mile away at the intersection of Sylvan Road North and Marion Road. Based on the location of the evidence, it appears the suspect had a vehicle, he said.

Police are processing images from the bank’s surveillance cameras that which will be made public when they become available.

Anyone who witnessed the suspect leaving the scene is asked to call Westport detectives at (203) 341-6080.

Why is it the panel for this event does not include a single advocate for gun-owners' rights? WithRead More all due respect to Chief McNamara, why does the panel no include a person who can speak to gun safety from a gun-owning civilian's perspective? ML, you claim that the assembled folks "do not offer judgements about gun ownership" but they are not including a single voice that can offer perspective on gun ownership. I have been to "education" sessions sponsored by Meg's March for Change and they are one-sided indoctrinations into gun control advocacy. >>>> I was in Hartford for the public hearings in January when both Meg and March co-founder Nancy gave their personal testimonies and they all but threatened the legislators on the panel with election day retribution for all those who did not tow the gun-control line of thinking (i.e. March and CAGV). To suggest that Meg "does not offer judgements" is fallacious and disingenuous.
