Motor Vehicle Stop Results in Drug Arrest
Westport Police reports for Saturday, Dec. 22
Matthew Tumidajski, 23, of Southport was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana, sale of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia on Saturday, Dec. 22, following a motor vehicle stop.
Police said at about 10:15 p.m. an officer on patrol on Post Road East observed that the rear license plate on Tumidajski's vehicle was illuminated with a blue, neon-type light.

After stopping the vehicle, the officer detected a faint odor believed to be that of marijuana coming from the passenger compartment.
Police said a search of the vehicle produced marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Also located was a black, digital scale that is commonly used by people who sell narcotics, police said.

Tumidajski posted a $2,500 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 2, 2013. Police said the total weight of the marijuana was 1.035 ounces.
