UPDATE: Weston Man Identified In I-95 Fatality

A tractor-trailer accident involved three cars and one death.

The Connecticut State Police closed I-95 northbound at exits 16 and 17 due to a crash involving a tractor-trailer and three cars that killed one person Monday.

The Norwalk Hour reports the driver of an Acura sedan was pronounced dead after being transported to Norwalk Hospital. State police identified him as Lawrence Simonoff, a 35-year-old Weston resident.

According to the article, Simonoff was traveling northbound in the left lane near exit 17 when his car was sideswiped by a car from the center lane. Both vehicles spun out of control due to the wet roadway and force of the impact.

Simonoff's Acura crashed front-first into the median, while the second driver veered right into the guardrail, and that car was rear-ended by a third car, according to state police.

Simonoff's car was then struck on the driver's side by an 18-wheeled tractor trailer, police said.
