One Hospitalized After Three-Car Crash in Westport

A driver suffered non-life threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital following a three-car accident on I-95 in Westport early Friday morning.

According to Westport fire personnel, crews responded to the three-vehicle accident just north of Exit 17 at 2:51 a.m.

A Ford Escape suffered major front end damage and the driver was transported to Norwalk Hospital for further medical evaluation for apparent non-life threatening injuries. The middle and left hand lanes of I-95 were closed down for the duration of the accident, according to Assistant Chief Larry Conklin.

“Always remember that bridges and overpasses freeze over before the regular roadway,” said Conklin.
