Police Blotter: Cleaners Caught Shoplifting

Police reports from Oct. 10-12.

The following arrest information was provided by the Westport Police Department. It does not indicate convictions.

Two members of the cleaning crew at Home Goods allegedly tried shoplifting $15.95 worth of items from the store on Tuesday. According to the report, Celotilde Amatitla, 35, and Eliza Zenteno, 28, both of Bridgeport, tried taking two items from a bin near the front of the store. A loss prevention specialist reported the incident to police. Both were charged with sixth-degree larceny and are scheduled to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on Oct. 22. Bail was set at $250 each.

Lindsey Reed, 24, of Post Road East, was arrested on Oct. 12 at 2:37 p.m. on charges of disorderly conduct, interfering with an emergency call and third-degree criminal mischief. According to the report, Reed was involved in a domestic dispute where she allegedly threatened a family member. When the family member tried calling police, Reed allegedly took the cell phone and broke it in half. She also reportedly kicked holes in the walls of the house. Reed's bail was set at $5,000 and she is scheduled to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on Oct. 13.

Joshua Yard, 27, of Bridgeport, was arrested on Oct. 12 at 3:26 a.m. on charges of narcotics possession in a non-original container and possession. According to the report, Yard was at the domestic dispute involving Lindsey Reed and was "somewhat uncooperative" while officers were investigating. The home was searched and he was found to be in possession of a brown prescription bottle with the label torn off. Nine pills of Clonazepam were found inside. Yard's bail was set at $5,000 and he is scheduled to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on Oct. 22.

Garry Workman, 57, of the Gillespie Center, was arrested on Oct. 10 at 7:07 p.m. According to the report, Workman allegedly stole cash from the mail at Saugatuck Congregational Church. Workman's bail was set at $2,500 and he is scheduled to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on Oct. 20.
